Milford Rabbi Reacts To California Synagogue Shooting

A shooting in a California Synagogue left one woman dead and three others injured.

MILFORD, MA — A shooting in a Chabad synagogue in San Diego, California on Saturday killed one woman and injured three others including an eight-year-old girl. Saturday was the eighth and final day of Passover and the shooting comes exactly six months after the Tree of Life synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh when a gunman killed 11 people.

Rabbi Medy Kivman of the Chabad House Jewish Center in Milford called the shootings at the Poway Chabad House, "an attack on all of us, every single Jew and every decent human being." The center held a prayer service for the injured and held a Mizvah for the woman who lost her life.

Rabbi Mendy's statement reads in part:

The Rebbe always tells us that alongside the natural grief, there is a need to focus on things that will result in action and positive change."

"If you would like to do something REAL in their honor, buy a mezuzah for your home. If you have one already, put up another! We can help you with that."
