Milford Regional Hosts Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony
Milford Regional Medical Center's annual tree of life event drew a crowd of almost 200 people.

The Tree of Life ceremony drew a crowd of almost 200 people on Monday night. People gathered to pay tribute to those touched by cancer and helped raise over $12,000 for the Oliva Fund for Cancer Care at Milford Regional Medical Center. The tree was lit in honor of the Oliva Family, in recognition of how their lives have been impacted by cancer and for their dedication to helping patients. The fund is named in honor of the family and provides oncology patients with support during their treatment.
“We come to this ceremony every year; it is a great start to the holiday season,” says Gina Oliva Tarolli. “It is important for us to continue to give back to the community, and we are very humbled to have the fund named after our family.”
The event included a performance by the Very Merry Dickens Carolers. President and CEO of Milford Regional, Edward J. Kelly, made remarks at the event as well.

Tribute luminaries lit a path from the hospital to the Tree of Life. Each light on the tree symbolized a loved one affected by cancer. Gold and silver tribute angels were also displayed as a reminder of loved ones affected by cancer. The tree will remain lit during the holiday season to serve as a reminder of hope in the fight against cancer.
