Milford Resident Named Finalist In National Anthem Auditions

She sang an original song for the judges.

MILFORD, MA — A Milford woman was one of 11 finalists invited by the New England Revolution to compete for the chance to perform the national anthem at a Revs home match during the 2019 season. Amy Boone earned the opportunity by edging out the competition during the eighth annual National Anthem Auditions. She made it to the live final showdown on March 21, at Lansdowne Pub in Boston.

As a four-year season ticket holder of the Revs, Amy wrote and performed an original song entitled Revolution sung to the melody of Halleluiah showcasing the players, coaches and love for the Revs within the lyrics. Amy was fashion-forward decked out in Revs gear head to toe.

She received a standing ovation from Teal Bunbury, New England Revolution forward who served as one of the evening’s guest judges. Bunbury sat alongside fellow judges including Charlie Davies, New England Revolution Club Ambassador; Patrick Heenehan, Event Presentation Supervisor of Kraft Sports Group; and Ashley Jordan, 2018 Boston Music Awards ‘Country Artist of the Year’– who were tasked with cutting down 11 finalists to three winners. Elizabeth Pehota, reporter for the Revs, served as emcee.
