Milford School Committee to Discuss Filling AD Role This Week
The role is currently open after Richard Piergustavo was hired as Assistant Principal at Milford High School.

The Milford School Committee plans to hold a special meeting this week to discuss filling the role of the town’s Athletic Director.
The position was previously held for five years by Richard Piergustavo, who was recently chosen to serve as an assistant principal at Milford High School, Milford Public Schools Superintendent Robert Tremblay said Tuesday.
Last week, a job description for the role of “Interim Athletic Director” was posted online to SchoolSpring.com’s job boards. The person hired would serve in the role from Aug. 11 to Dec. 1, according to the posting.

The School Committee, Tremblay said, has been weighing whether to hire someone in an interim capacity to hold the position as it’s been filled until they are able to hire someone permanently.
Tremblay added that school officials are looking at whether to keep the position a 12-month administrative role or one that would serve in a 10-month capacity and include teaching elements. On Wednesday, Tremblay and the School Committee will be looking more closely at the position to determine what direction in which to move before hiring someone for the role.

“We’re looking to expand middle athletics as well,” Tremblay said.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. in the Teacher’s Resource Center at Milford High School.
