Milford Seeks Solution To Wendy's Flooding

The infamous 'Lake Wendy' in Milford may see its last days as the town begins installing a solution.

Those driving along Rte. 85 and Dilla Street have seen and maybe even waded through the water collected in the Wendy's parking lot at the location. The town of Milford has heard the complaints and is taking steps to prevent more flooding.

"Lake Wendy" as it's being called has been a nuisance to residents looking for a quick bite to eat at the restaurant for years. Whenever heavy rains pass through the area the lower driveway of the restaurant is flooded. The water buildup can get so bad that at times cars can't pass through the Dilla Street entrance and exit.

To fix the issue, the town is installing an underground retention system and closing the access road leading into the parking lot for construction.
