Milford Special Town Meeting: What's On The Warrant
The Monday special Town Meeting will handle a host of issues, including the possible sale of the town's elder care facility.

MILFORD, MA — Milford Town Meeting will convene in a special session Monday night to vote on nine articles covering a host of governance issues.
One of the main issues on the warrant is the sale of the Milford Geriatric Authority's Countryside Health Care of Milford elder care facility to a third-party provider, according to town documents.

Article 1 — Deciding whether Milford should establish an audit committee
Article 2 — If Town Meeting creates an audit committee, this article transfers $100,000 to the committee for an initial budget

Article 3 — Moves the date of the town election from the first Tuesday in April to the third Tuesday in May.
Article 4 — Transfers money to the Milford Geriatric Authority to support the operation of the Countryside Health Care of Milford, the town's nonprofit elder care facility
Article 5 — Sells Milford Geriatric Authority real estate to a nursing home company to pay down debt
Article 6 — Provides money to the geriatric authority to continue operating in advance of a sale to a third party
Article 7 — Changes the zoning bylaw to allow more than one freestanding sign on certain properties in May, but removing that allowance for March
Article 8 — Gives $5,000 to the town clerk to raise awareness about the spring 2023 town election
Article 9 — To comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, requires each town board and commission to provide online access to meetings and meeting materials in advance
