Milford Town Library Extends Open Hours
The Milford library is one of the few around with an open building. New hours went into effect this week.

MILFORD, MA — The Milford Town Library — one of the few libraries open in the region — extended its hours on Tuesday for the first time since coronavirus restrictions went into effect in the spring.
The library reopened its building to the public in early July with limited hours. Beginning Aug. 11, the building remain open on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 9 p.m. The building is open until 6 p.m. on all other days, and is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
Library patrons must abide by new rules meant to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Masks and social distancing are mandatory, and the public is encouraged to visit the building only for short periods.

Many local libraries are still only lending with curbside pickup. Medway and Hopkinton's buildings are still closed, but Bellingham is offering "grab-and-go" service in a central area in the main library.
Milford has had just under 700 cases over the course of the pandemic. Data released by the state last week showed the town's positive test rate creeping up.
