Milford Woman Assaulted Ambulance Worker: Police

The woman was on her way to Milford Regional when police said she hit an ambulance worker with a closed fist.

MILFORD, MA — A Milford woman assaulted an ambulance worker who was taking her to Milford Regional on Tuesday, according to police. The Milford Fire department and Community Ambulance were called to a home for a report of a woman having trouble breathing.

While ambulance workers were trying to bring the stretcher out of the ambulance the woman, Deborah Abbot, 54, started hitting the worker in the shoulder with a closed fist, according to police. Police and ambulance personnel were able to get Abbot onto the stretcher and into the ambulance.

Police said once Abbot got into her hospital room she started fighting again. Hospital security and nursing staff were able to calm her and make sure she was safe as well as those around her.

Abbot was given a summons and charged with a violation — assault and battery on ambulance personnel.
