Milford Woman In Norwood Skyline Fall Dies

MILFORD, MA — A worker who fell through a skyline on Broadway in Norwood Tuesday has died.

Norwood Chief William Brooks announced on Twitter Thursday that the victim has succumbed to injures sustained in the fall. The woman has been identified as Jessica Castro of Milford.

Tuesday, police responded to a report that a woman was seriously injured in a 30-foot fall through a skyline on Broadway. OSHA officials have been notified of the incident.

A worker told WFXT that Castro was working for a subcontractor and that skylights often have a barrier around them. It is unknown if there was a barrier around the skylights in this incident.

The subcontractor, identified as Costa Roofing, has one violation to its name. Last year, they were fined $2,800 for working without a guardrail or safety net system at a site in Weymouth.
