Milford's Thanks To Yanks Donates To Coast Guard
The local organization wanted to extend help to members of the Coast Guard who had been working without pay during the shutdown.

MILFORD, MA- The government shutdown lasted five weeks and affected people from Washington all the way to towns like Milford. For five weeks, government and federal employees hadn't received a paycheck and thousands still won't receive back-pay.
Milford's Thanks to Yanks organization didn't want to stand by while members of the Coast Guard went without pay, especially with the threat that another shutdown could happen in a few weeks.
The local charity took action and decided to donate $1,000 to the Coast Guard. President and Founder of the organization, Michael Shain, said the money is earmarked for food purchases.
