New Milford Rotary Fundraiser Honors Al Holman, Veterans
An upcoming Milford Rotary Club event will remember the longtime publisher, with proceeds going to veterans.
MILFORD, MA — The Milford Rotary Club will hold a fundraiser next month honoring a longtime local newspaper publisher and elected official who died in 2022.
The first Al Holman Memorial Fundraiser will take place at the Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School. All proceeds from $50 admission tickets will go to the nonprofit Vietnam Veterans of Massachusetts Inc.
Holman, who was also an Upton Board of Health member, died in July at age 74. He operated the Town Crier publications for more than three decades. In September, the Town Crier papers — covering Mendon, Milford and Upton — ceased publishing.
