New Subdivision Proposed For Milford Downtown Area

The proposed Depot Street Estates will be up for a hearing on Tuesday at the Milford Planning Board.

MILFORD, MA — Two Hopedale developers are seeking permission to build a four-lot subdivision in the downtown Milford area. The Depot Street Estates plan will go before the Planning Board for a public hearing on Tuesday.

The subdivision would occupy about 3-1/2 acres of wooded land along Depot Street across the street from the entrance to Vernon Grove Cemetery. Each home would be arranged around a short road that would end in a cul-de-sac at the center of the subdivision, according to plans.

However, Town Planner Larry Dunkin is recommending that the Planning Board postpone the public hearing on the subdivision for multiple reasons, but primarily that one of the lots will require a variance from the Zoning Board of Appeals before it can be considered as part of the overall plan.
