Nouria Gets OK For Milford Location
The local convenience store chain will expand its presence at the Shell station along Route 109.

MILFORD, MA — A local convenience store chain has received approval from town officials to open at a Shell station along Route 109.
Last week, the Select Board granted a victualler license to Nouria Energy Retail to operate a store at 139 Medway Road. According to the company's website, the store will include an Amato’s, an eatery that sells Italian pasta and sandwiches.
Nouria did not immediately return a request for comment about the new Milford location.

Nouria is one of several local businesses that are refreshing gas station convenience stores to offer more than just snacks and sundries. Chains like Garrett's — the Plymouth-based company's first location opened along Route 85 in Milford — Cumberland Farms and Waltham-based Alltown Fresh are expanding in New England with stores that are large, bright and packed with fresh-made to-go foods.
Worcester-based Nouria, founded in the late 1980s as a single location in Auburn, now has more than 100 locations in New England between Waterville, Maine, and Hartford, Conn.
