Over 150 Layoffs Coming As Milford Cannabis Facility Closes
The company is selling some of its assets.
MILFORD, MA — More than 150 people could lose their jobs in Milford this fall.
AYR Wellness announced that it will lay off 157 employees at its Milford location. The cannabis company submitted a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Act notice, stating the effective date of layoffs as Sept. 29.
The Worcester Business Journal reported that this is because the company is closing its entire Milford marijuana cultivation facility.

This came over a week after AYR announced a restructuring, which included selling or winding down some of the company's assets.
The company operates multiple dispensaries in Massachusetts, including ones in Back Bay, Needham, Somerville and Watertown.
