Padaria Bakery, Burger King, Shaw's: Milford Health Inspections

MILFORD, MA—The following inspections were supplied by the Milford Board of Health:

• Big Y 7 Medway Rd. 4-4-17 Violations here include the following. There is a water leak in the piping for the hand sink in the deli prep room, food debris on one knife blade in the deli department that was stored in the knife rack, and hand sink in the produce prep room drains too slowly.
• Stop & Shop 196 E. Main St. 3-31-17 violations here include the following. In the prep room off the deli make sure knives are clean and sanitized before storage in the knife rack, men’s restroom sink needs to be cleaned and disinfected, some walls in the meat room need to be cleaned, and grill/vent area that runs the length of the meat case needs cleaning due to food and other debris under this grate system.
• Napoleon’s 2 Beach St. 4-5-17 Violations here include the following. Repair rear screen door to the back of the establishment so that it closes properly, boxes of food product cannot be stored on the floor in the walk in cooler, clean interiors of the convection oven and microwave oven, and all three blue bin containers need to be cleaned and sanitized that currently contain utensils and equipment.
• Pizza 85 130 Cedar St. 4-6-17 Clean the small two burner stove top, and clean the back “trap area” of the flat top grill
• Papa Gino’s 42 Cape Rd. 4-10-17 Violations here include the following. No hot water for two hand sinks this is a critical violation requiring a re-inspection tomorrow (4-11-17), box of food product cannot be left on the floor in the walk in freezer. Critical violation corrected 4-11-17
• Papa Gino’s 91 Medway Rd. 4-10-17 Violations here include the following. Floor area under the cooking equipment is in need of cleaning due to grease dust and food residue, and and small freezer flip top doors are in need of repair.
• Milford Hospital 14 Prospect St. 4-10-17 Violations here were uncovered bread product stored on top of partially covered pizza that was not securely covered, and one tray of food product not covered in the McCool 2 door cooler.
• Pizza Chef 179 Main St. 4-7-17 Violations here include the following. Time to change one piece of cardboard on the dry goods storage shelf, in the walk in cooler need to clean the cooling fan grates and food in cardboard boxes cannot be stored on the floor in this same cooler, and do not store knives in the plastic container with the blades facing the user.
• Padaria Bakery 173 Main St. 4-5-17 Violations here include the following. In the basement work area label barrels of food with the food products they contain, there is a food spill in the dry goods storage room, need additional working thermometers, need hotter hot water in several hand sinks and dishwashing area, clean and sanitize the manual can opener the entire piece, dishwashing area is very cramped and needs to be improved on, and hot holding foods in the display case need to be kept hotter adjustment made immediately also time temp for these products is not abused. A re-inspection is scheduled in addition restaurant closed due to lack of hot water. Hot water restored the same day and establishment was allowed to reopen. Re-inspected 4-12-17 and found remaining violations correctedMilford Pizza Palace 8 Beach St. 4-4-17 Clean the top of the magnetic knife strip, make sure some sense of the rack storage is made esp. the top two sections, clean small section of the butcher block table where food debris is accumulating, and one hood filter needs to be cleaned due to dust dirt and grease buildup.
• Shaw's 1 Prospect St. 4-3-17 Violations here include the following. Mop sink in the produce prep room in in need if cleaning and disinfecting, in the produce prep room make sure knives are clean and sanitized before storage in the knife rack, clean exterior including the sliding glass doors of the small chest freezer in the seafood dept., hot holding unit in the deli area needs to be cleaned and maintained, floor in the walk in cooer at the bakery needs to be cleaned, and one of the hand sinks in the bakery has a bad leak and needs repair.
• Burger King 22 Beaver St. 4-14-17 Repair water leak at the utility sink inside the mop room also mop up water spills at the ice machine and next to the soda system.
• Blair House 20 Claflin St 4-14-17 Do not store clothing on stainless steel work tables, and plastic part inside the ice machine needs to be cleaned.
• Isabel’s Coffee Shop 355.5 Main St. 4-4-17 Violations here include the following. Box of food product cannot be stored on the floor in the small pantry area (pasta), Flat top grill needs to be cleaned , do not block hand sink from use, clean and defrost the glass top freezer, need to clean the floor area around the three bay sink t the hand sink and do repair work to the wall area in this same area to the hand sink, repair gasket on the 2 door cooler, 2 door beer cooler empty it clean the base then restock it, food service utensils need to be stored in a safer more sanitary method, and wall area around the hand sink in the restroom is falling apart. Re-inspected on 4-14-17 and found one violation corrected. Spoke with the owner and schedule d a re-inspection for Tuesday 4-18-14 when it was guaranteed that all violations would be corrected. Re-inspected 4-19-17 and found violations corrected.
• Applebee’s 91 Medway Rd 4-13-17 The floor area behind the Air Gas tank needs to be cleaned grease dirt dust buildup, cover box of Kosher salt in the dry goods storage racks, clean the floor area behind the ice machine and esp. the floor drain in the same area, sweep floor in the walk in freezer, clean and maintain dishwashing are, and clean the 4 burner stove top. A re-inspection is scheduled.
• 5 Guys 9 Medway Rd. 4-13-17 Do not store cutting boards between sink faucet and splash wall due to possible splash hazard and re-contamination, and paper towel dispenser for women’s rest room not working.
• Nelly’s Sandwich Shop 113 Central St. 4-12-17 Clean interior of Hobart oven, and clean surface area of 6 burner stove top.
• Alamo 55 Medway Rd. 4-14-17 Violations here include the following. There needs to be less clutter in the room where hot water tank and furnace are located, clean the exterior of the ice machine, screen door in the basement could close more securely to prevent the entrance of pests, defrost the small chest freezer clean and install a visible thermometer, clean the 6 burner stove top needs attention, fry baskets are frayed and damaged need to be replaced, and interior of the convection oven needs a good scrubbing, 2 sets of staircases would benefit from a damp mopping because of dirt dust food residue and normal everyday traffic, need to clean rubber mats (maybe some new ones) powerwash floor and replace matting. A re-inspection is scheduled.
• Bills Pizza 126 Main St. 4-19-17 No violations here.
