Pepperoncini’s, Great Taste, Sabor Latino: Milford's Health Inspections

Milford's health department conducted multiple inspections in May.

MILFORD, MA—The following inspections were supplied by the Milford Board of Health:

  • Milford Hospital, 14 Prospect St. 5-2-16 Food slicer is to be cleaned and sanitized before it is covered, and convection ovens are a mess and need a real scrubbing.
  • Genesis Health Care, 10 Veterans Memorial Dr. 5-3-16 No violations here.
  • Milford Marriott, 10 Fortune Blvd. 5-3-16 Violations here include the following. Clean the exterior of the Vulcan oven, clean the interior (esp. the front interior edge of the convection oven, clean interior of the stainless steel draw where equipment and utensils are stored, and dispose of or clean waste basket used for paper order slips.
  • Sabor Latino 126 Main St. 5-3- 16 Violations here include the following. Need hand soap for the employee hand sink (this was corrected mounted before the inspection was over), at the wooden shelving unit remove the sandwich maker pan of utensils and cutting boards and clean this surface due to food stains and general debris replace items removed but find a safer more sanitary method to store cutting boards, label plastic containers/bins with the food products they contain, cover foods (3) in the Kelvinator cooler, clean the window sill where it is very dirty, clean the interior of the stove, and grease trap needs to be professionally serviced (cleaned/pumped out) and the area in general cleaned. A re- inspections is scheduled. Re-inspected 5-11- 16 and found violations corrected.
  • Marty’s Kitchen 178 Main E. St. 5-4- 16 Violations here include need additional visible thermometers, and when working with food in any way hair restraints are to be worn. Keep up with general cleaning.
  • Johnny Jacks 220 Main St. 5-4-16 Violations here include the following. Wipe down clean and sanitize the entire surface the butcher block table, clean steel table that has all the food products stored spices etc., clean the floor win the coffee service area.
  • Thai Pepper, 178 E. Main St. 5-4-16 The following violations were noted. The burners for the stove need to be cleaned heavily caked up with grease etc., clean exposed piping for the wok station, clean and disinfect the toilet in the employee restroom, two pans of food not covered in the freezer, and be careful that soiled pot holders are not in contact with utensils and equipment.
  • Napoleon 2 Beach St. 5-4- 16 Violations here include a small tear in the screen in the window as you enter the front door, bag of flour and sugar cannot be stored on the floor in the back storage room, need to defrost the stand alone freezer.
  • Mazzarelli’s Bakery 229 Central St. 5-6-16 Violations here include the following. One food scoop not clean and sanitized and stored safely after use, stuck on food debris (dough) on the huge mixing bowl and hook inside the bowl, and one food product not covered in the 2 door cooler.
  • Ray and Dicks Bakery 20 Exchange St. 5-6- 16 Violations here include the following. Do not store pans of blueberry muffins on top of each other in the basement chest freezer, need to clean the area of the bulk head stairs lots of debris, need to clean and sanitize the manual can opener mounted on the butcher block table, and clean and disinfect the hand sink in the employees restroom.
  • Subway 9 Medway Rd. 5-6-16 Boxes of snack foods and bags of tea cannot be stored on the floor in the dry goods storage area, and a small liquid spill by the soda system.
  • Subway 94 Prospect St 5-6- 16 No violations here.
  • Starbucks 250 Fortune Blvd. 5-5-16 No violations here.
  • D’Angelo’s 138 S. Main St. 5-5-16 Store soup spoons so that handles face the user, and clean the floor to the edge under the main grill area.
  • Panera Bread 91 Medway St. 5-9- 16 One violation here paper towel missing from one dispenser which was corrected by the conclusion of the inspection.
  • Padaria Bakery 173 Main St. 5-9- 16 Violations here include the following. In the basement label the “Brute” barrel with the food product it contains, boxes of oranges cannot be stored on the floor in the walk in cooler, boxes of food product cannot be stored on the floor in the walk in freezer, cover one food product in the True 3 door cooler, replace a couple of tiles under the Proofer, and clean the back window sill and remove whatever is there it is very dirty there.
  • Milford Senior Center 60 N. Bow St. 5-9- 16 No violations here.
  • Pub 99 196 E. Main St. 5-6- 16 Violations here include the following. Need to cover baked item(pie) on the steel shelf unit (it was disposed of), food products in cardboard boxes cannot be stored on the floor in the walk in freezer (immediately corrected), utensils and equipment in the storage rack next to the ice machine need to be run through the dish machine again, clean exteriors of all three fryers, clean and scrub the interior of the convection oven, clean exteriors of the main line prep coolers, and clean the pad area of the dumpster container area. A re-inspection is scheduled. Re-inspected 5-13- 16 and found violations corrected.
  • Papa Gino’s 42 Cape Rd. 5-10- 16 Violations here include the following. No paper towel in the dispenser for the hand sink way down in the back, tow open containers of appetizers in the true freezer, and clean the floor to the wall under the main line esp. under the fryers.
  • Criterion Child Enrichment/Rise&Shine 375 Fortune Blvd. 5-10-16 No violations here.
  • Great Taste 201 Main St. 5-10-16 Violations here include the following. Meat cleavers are to be clean and sanitized before storage on the magnetic strip, one food product not covered in the walk in cooler, clean and sanitize the large mixing bowl, small prep area where the rice coolers are located needs to be cleaned really good and the floor clean and the area in general just picked up, and clean interior of the small single door prep cooler.
  • Pinz 110 S. Main St. 5-9-16 Violations here include the following. One knife blade in the knife rack next to the dough press had food debris on it, clean the top of the flat top grill, and need a thermometer in new bar where food products are stored.
  • Nelly’s Sandwich Shop 113 Central St. 5-11-16 Clean interior of microwave oven clean interior of Hobart oven, clean interior of the left side oven the one that is used.
  • Papa Gino’s 91 Medway Rd. 5-11-16 Replace ceiling light panel that protects overhead lights and clean the floor under the fryer due to a grease spill/buildup.
  • Pizza 85 130 Cedar St. 5-13-16 Need to clean two burner stove top.
  • T.G.I.Fridays 240 Fortune Blvd. 5-12-16 Food products in cardboard boxes cannot be stored on the
  • floor in the walk in freezer, and on the waitress side of the mainline the under storage area is to be cleaned out.
  • Pepperoncini’s 201 E. Main St. 5-11- 16 In the walk in units freezer and cooler all products in cardboard boxes must be stored off the floor also install visible thermometers, five foods not covered inside the pizza prep cooler, outside disposal area is a mess, empty out clean and restock the outside storage area where dry goods (paper) are stored, the dumpster kept closed, the grease container not just emptied but replaced with a new clean, knives are to be clean and sanitized before storage in the knife rack, and main line is to be cleaned all exposed and hard to get at area, floor area behind the main line is to be cleaned also where there is obvious food spills and grease buildup, at least 2-3 cutting boards are to be replaced. A re-inspection is scheduled. Re-inspected on 5-18- 16 and found most violations corrected 2 violations remain open for further cleaning.
  • Central Trattoria 89 Main St. 5-12- 16 Boxes of baked goods cannot be stored on the floor in the walk in cooler, clean the area behind the prep coolers, cover pots pans utensils, etc. under the staircase to prevent accidental contamination, clean and disinfect the 2 bay sink at the bar and clean the floor at the bar, move things to accomplish the task.
  • Aldi’s 225 E. Main St. 5-17-16 Removed torn open bag of sugar nothing else happening here.
  • T.D’s Pub 68 Water St. 5-17-16 Clean door guides for the T.D
  • Whitcomb House 245 West St. 5-18-16 Box of melons cannot be stored on the floor in the walk in cooler.
  • Gene’s Variety 80 Water St. 5-23-16 Violations here include the following. Bag of onions cannot be stored on the floor in the basement, bags and boxes of food cannot be stored on the floor in the walk in freezer and walk in cooler, need paper towel for the dispenser in the basement next to the hand sink, clean the 10 burner stove top, food in bags cannot be stored on the floor in the small upstairs pantry, clean the shelving area under the food slicer, and clean door guides glass panels and edges of all three deli display cases. A re-inspection is scheduled.
  • The Crystal Room 49 Cedar St 5-19- 16 Walk in freezer is in disarray and is to be organized so food is off the floor and stored safely, linen towels aprons are to be stored in a more appropriate place not on top of the convection oven, and store the ice scoop in a more safe sanitary manner not on top of the machine for the ice machine at the bar in the ball room.
  • Angelo Pirri Mobile seafood) 5-19- 16 No violations.
  • Kindercare 235 Congress St. 5-24-16 Violations here include the following. Clean inside base of the oven, repair one cabinet door that is about to fall off the hinge, clean interior base and wire storage rack inside where the Lazy Susan is.
  • Edible Arrangements 196 E. Main St. 5-24-16 Clean the draw and plastic insert in the stainless steel draw closet to the telephone. No other violations here.
  • Little Stars 229 Purchase St. 5-24- 16 No violations here.
  • Peter’s Market 75 Purchase St. 5-24- 16 One package of hotdogs removed due to past sell by date.
  • Mother Hubbard 76 School St. 5-24-16 There are no violations here
  • Tracey and Becky 96.5 E. Main St. 5-24-16 There are no violations here.
  • Olivas Mkt. and Catering 83.5 E. Main 5-23-16 Violations here include the following. In the exterior dry goods storage unit keep bags of food product closed tightly and stored off the ground, large Hobart floor mixer needs the exterior cleaned and the dough hook clean and sanitized, clean the interior of the top Cleveland convection oven, change the cardboard liners under the stainless steel work table, and bakery area in general could be cleaner.
  • The Exotic Foods 53 Sumner St. 5-19- 16 No violations here.
  • Purchase St. Market 89 Purchase St. 5-19-16 Violations here include the following. Clean the floor of the walk in cooler in the basement, meat and produce cannot be stored on the floor in this same cooler, clean the door guides for the first smaller deli display case and in the walk in freezer do not store food in cardboard boxes on the floor.
