Proposed Milford Walgreens Gets Nod From Planning Board
A Norwood developer is planning to move a Prospect Street Walgreens to a new site.

MILFORD, MA — The Milford Planning Board has given an initial approval to a plan to build a new Walgreens pharmacy along Prospect Street.
Norwood-based Arista Development LLC wants to build a new 10,000 square-foot Walgreens at 80 Prospect St. An existing Walgreens at the across-the-street Shaw's plaza would move into the new building, replacing a shuttered gas station and dry cleaning business.
The developer would demolish the existing structure. The new Walgreens would feature a drive-thru and 51 parking spaces.

Arista Development representatives appeared before the Planning Board to formally present their plans on Tuesday evening. A traffic engineer said the development wouldn't increase traffic in the area because the existing Walgreens' customer base would likely remain about the same, but just shift to the other side of Prospect Street.
The Planning Board voted unanimously to approve the pharmacy plan with the stipulation that the Sewer Commission signs off on the new occupancy at the site.
