SenseAbility Gym is excited to announce that they are the recipient of a $1000 charitable giving grant from Unibank.
The grant is for the purchase of new equipment for SenseAbility Gym, with a specific focus on supporting non-ambulatory children.
"This generous grant from Unibank has enabled us to bring in a variety of additional equipment for the gym to support children of all abilities," said Tina Perriello, Co-Director of SenseAbility Gym. "This includes non-ambulatory children, who have been regular participants in Open Gym."
The need was identified this summer as several school collaborative programs visited SenseAbility Gym with their preschool and elementary aged students. A few of the students were non-ambulatory and non-verbal. While they were able to utilize most of the equipment currently at the gym, there was clearly a need for more specific items to support this part of the community.
The new equipment will be arriving at the gym just in time for the holiday break.
"Unibank continues to be an incredible supporter of our mission and of the special needs community," said Perriello. "We are very grateful for their ongoing commitment to us."
