If you were at Quarry Square shopping plaza in Milford today around 11:30 this morning and assisted a woman who fell on some concrete stairs, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU. That was my mother. In a time of such bad news in the media I wanted people to know that there are a lot of truly good people out there. I don't know who any of you are; you disappeared after the EMTs came. Since I can't thank you properly, I will thank you publicly. Hopefully this message gets to you somehow through the wonders of social media.
I do know that one of you was a gentleman that ran to your car to get paper towels to put on my mom's head to stop the bleeding. And you helped steady my mom as she tried to get up. Another of you was a woman that helped my 12 year old daughter tell the 911 dispatch exactly where we were. My daughter had never called 911 before, was terrified at seeing her grandmother hurt and as she and I are not from the area could not have given the location. (A fact I did not realize in my own silent panic until after I had her call while I held onto my mom). Another of you was a woman in a Patriot sweatshirt who is a nurse and was able to reassure my mom while I spoke with the dispatcher. From somewhere a full box of tissues appeared, which I still have in my car.
Your kindness, your presence of mind and your quick thinking helped more than you can imagine. I am not from Milford and I don't know if any of you are. But whoever you are, you are wonderful.
