The Hearing Loss Association of America – Central Massachusetts Chapter is sponsoring a free presentation entitled “Transitioning to the Workforce: What you need to know...

If you are a person with a cochlear implant or a hearing aid, entering the workforce can be challenging. You may need to create new support networks and to learn effective self-advocacy to contribute fully on the job. Join us for an informative learning experience.

The presenter is Barbara Johnson, IT Project Manager, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Ms. Johnson has more than 25 years of experience as a working professional with hearing loss and experience in advocating for people with hearing loss. She will share her own story and workplace lessons as she adjusted to hearing with a cochlear implant, the good and the not-so-good. Barbara learned how to educate her organization, create partnerships, and build greater awareness and inclusion for people with hearing loss at MIT.
