Tumble Beans Cafe and Play now open in Medway Shopping Plaza
Spring into play at Metrowest's inclusive and imaginative indoor play space and cafe featuring nitro brew and delicious fare
Just as Old Man Winter encourages little ones to burn off boundless energy indoors, Medway families now have a new option for indoor play. Tumble Beans Cafe and Play, a locally-owned imaginative play space and cafe for parents welcomes children up to age 6 to their newly opened colorful space at 114D Main Street, in the Medway Shopping Center, down the alley behind Ocean State Job Lot.
As one of the area’s biggest indoor playgrounds, Tumble Beans Café and Play is a clean and safe play space featuring great food and high-quality coffee in a café setting. Tumble Beans also has a dedicated room for enrichment classes, 4600 square feet of unplugged play space, a party room for up to 25 children, and a “Parent Squad” community of like-minded inclusive parents and kids who support each other. Tumble Beans staff include educators and experts as well as caring attendants who keep each play area clean and tidy.
Central to the Tumble Beans space is a giant climbing structure with tunnels, climbing structures, slides and a giant ball pit. The space also features, a colorful village with three independent and imaginative play areas – a grocery store and cafe,, a vet’s office, a building & designing room, and a sensory room beneficial for children with autism. The birthday party room doubles as a parent meeting room, with a calendar of parent/child enrichment classes. All day passes include in-and-out privileges so parents can enjoy a morning of play, take a nap break, then return in the late afternoon for a meetup with friends over coffee.

Tumble Beans is a dream realized for Knight, a former teacher and STEM and language education specialist who pooled the talent and resources of her family and colleagues to make the area’s first indoor café and play space a reality starting late February 2018. Tapping into the wisdom of dozens of area residents who served as focus group participants and Tumble Beans “squad” members, the extra build-out time was well-utilized to refine the new concept and make it even more inclusive for children of all abilities.
Extra care is taken to ensure all children feel welcome and included, and Tumble Beans is currently hiring smart, personable and responsible teens, young adults and especially former educators and childcare providers to help make this playground a safe, educational, and entertaining play destination in Metrowest.
Tumble Beans is located in the Medway Shopping Center (114 Main Street) in the former Advanced Auto Parts space, behind Ocean State Job Lot, with ample free parking. Hours are Monday thru Friday 8a-5p and Saturday and Sunday 8a-3p.
