Milford Votes Marijuana Bylaw, Reducing Speed Limit, Salaries For Elected Officials: Town Meeting 2017

MILFORD, MA - Milford's annual town meeting is coming up and registered residents will be able to vote on major town issues included in 44 warrant articles. Here's a breakdown of some important subjects that will be covered at this year's meeting.
The meeting will begin on Monday, May 22, starting at 7:30 p.m.
- Budget issues including: set salaries for municipal positions and elected officials, establish a revolving funds bylaw, town budgets including all departments, and many more.
- To reduce the speed limit from 30 mph to 25 mph in thickly-settled areas
- To authorize funds for the Vernon Grove Cemetery for bronze markers
- To authorize funds for maintenance for the Middle School East
- To see if the town will authorize an additional liquor license for Trattoria
- To amend the zoning bylaw by adding a definition for marijuana establishments
- Article 37 would see if the town would raise and appropriate funds to purchase Chromebooks for students grades 6-12
- Article 41 would provide Solar Energy Systems for town property
