Who is Milford's Best Teacher? Nominations Sought
It has become a Milford tradition to annually present this prestigious award to a Milford Public School teacher.

MILFORD, MA — Want to recognize an outstanding teacher in the Milford community?
The Senator Louis P. Bertonazzi Foundation is inviting the community recommend choices for the annual Outstanding Teacher Award.
It has become a Milford tradition to annually present this prestigious award to a Milford Public School teacher, explains the Foundation. After reviewing all the recommendation forms that have been received, a teacher from each building is selected by that school’s school council to represent their respective building.

A final selection committee of Milford citizens chooses from among these seven candidates to name the
outstanding teacher of the year. Candidates for this award are judged on the following criteria:
1. The teacher shall have displayed noteworthy, innovative, and effective teaching methods
which have enhanced student interest and performance.
2. The teacher’s engagement in professional development has directly contributed to the
improvement of his/her effectiveness in the education of students.
3. The teacher’s engagement with students, teachers, administrators, parents, and the school
community has contributed to establishing an effective learning environment.
4. The teacher has worked beyond his/her assigned classroom responsibilities to promote the
continued education of the youth in the community.

In addition, the teacher must have a minimum of three years teaching experience in the Milford
Public Schools.
Responses are to be submitted with this completed Recommendation Form to the principal of the candidate’s building for submission to the School Council.
Responses must be submitted by the second Friday in January.
