Who's The Best Teacher In Milford? Nominations Open

Do you have a favorite teacher in Milford? Someone who touches the lives of your children or shines in their job? Now is your chance to recommend them for the district's most prestigious award: Nominations are open for a Milford Public School teacher to receive the annual outstanding teacher award. You can fill out a recommendation form on the Milford Public school website. The deadline is Jan. 11.

All teachers recommended must meet these standards:

1. The teacher should have displayed noteworthy, innovative and effective teaching methods that enhanced student interest and performance.
2. The teacher’s engagement in professional development has directly contributed to the improvement of his/her effectiveness.
3. The teacher’s engagement with students, teachers, administrators, parents and the school community has contributed to establishing an effective learning environment.
4. The teacher has worked beyond his/her assigned classroom responsibilities to promote the continued education of the youth in the community.
5. Must have a minimum of three years teaching experience in the Milford Public Schools.

Once you've filled out the form you can hand it in to the principal of the candidate’s building for submission to the School Council.
