MILFORD – Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr. donated $2,000 as part of his Drug Forfeiture Community Reinvestment program last week to benefit the Catholic Charities Holiday Meals program in Milford.

“Through this program, we can put the money that once helped drug dealers bring poison into our neighborhoods to help build up our communities,” Mr. Early said. “We are honored to support the great work Catholic Charities does feeding those in need in the Milford area during this holiday season.”

Catholic Charities spends about $5,000 a month on gift cards to distribute to members of the community so they can buy food. The $2,000 from the District Attorney’s Office will help increase distribution during the holiday season.

The Drug Forfeiture Community Reinvestment program uses money seized from drug crimes to provide funds for community initiatives in Worcester County. Through this program, District Attorney Early has donated $1.9 million back into the community since 2007.
