2 Arrested, Including Street Gang Founder, On Stolen Gun Charges

Holliston, Framingham and Natick police coordinated the arrest of two

NATICK, MA — Two men have been arrested on stolen gun charges after a coordinated investigation between Framingham, Holliston and Natick police.

On Feb. 4, Holliston police investigated reports of a stolen gun from a residence in town, an AK-47 that the owner said had been secured. The next day, that gun owner reported a second stolen gun, a Smith & Wesson .40 pistol. Both guns had been secured in a safe.

Police found that David Hunt, a resident of the home in Holliston, stole the guns to buy drugs in Natick.

Hunt was charged with larceny of a firearm over $250.

An investigation continuing, a second arrest was made. James Salvi was also arrested in Natick on charges of stolen firearms.

The arrest led police to the Crowne Plaza hotel on Route 9 in Natick, where they found heroin, cocaine, bullets and fentanyl, reports MetroWest Daily News.Others in the room were arrested on drug charges, and MetroWest Daily News reports that Salvi has a long list of offenses that stem from time as the founding member of the Kendall Street Thugs (KTS), a Framingham street gang.
