Hi Friends,Yesterday I had the great privilege to join all my friends in Miss Altcheck and Miss McEnaney's Classes (two to my favorite teachers in the whole world, plus half a dozen parent volunteers) at Lilja School and return to the Hunnewell Town Forest and pull garlic mustard (an invasive understory plant) from the forest floor. All good news:• there was less than last year because we had a good "pull" last spring• got most of it by the roots and bagged it all (thanks to the moist weather)• even tore out a bunch of knotweed (another invasive)• observed a patch of exquisite lady slippers recently bloomed from the leaf and needle duff• cleaned up a "beer blast" zone just east of the meadow• discussed erosion and observed some creepy examples of it in the NTF• joined the Two Hands Project with a "selfie" at the end of our hikeCan't tell you how much I appreciate these young Trail Buddies. They're an inspiration and joy to work with. --Pat
