NATICK, MA — The town is seeking residents to fill more than three dozen vacancies on municipal committees and boards, and the deadline to apply is coming up.

The volunteer posts range from single-seat openings on several town bodies to as many as five on some, like the town Finance Committee, according to a public notice Tuesday.

The committees range in focus from aging issues to zero-greenhouse emission goals.

In total, Natick hopes to fill 37 seats on 16 public panels.

The vacancies need to be filled by July 1, and the deadline for applying is May 30. The Natick Select Board has the final say on who fills the positions, except for those on the Finance Committee, which is appointed by a moderator.

Natick and other Massachusetts communities have long relied on volunteer-driven governance that includes numerous public bodies. Natick officials hope the town’s residents will respond to the call.
