Assistant Chief Is A First For Natick Fire Department: Report
The department's former deputy has been promoted to the newly created role.
NATICK, MA — For the first time, the Natick Fire Department has an assistant chief.
The department’s chief, Jason Ferschke, promoted Deputy Chief Chris Hampton to the recently created post, the MetroWest Daily News reported Wednesday.
Running a 93-member fire department is a big management responsibility, and the new structure could help.

In his new role, Hampton will focus on day-to-day operations and other duties such as overseeing the fleet, according to the newspaper. Ferschke will be able to focus more on strategic leadership and duties such as hiring and grant writing.
