Join us for a presentation by Frank White, Natick resident and author of The Overview Effect on Tuesday, February 10 at 7pm
Join the Morse Institute for a presentation by Frank White, Natick resident and author of The Overview Effect: Space Exploration and Human Evolution. The event will be held at the Morse Institute’s Lebowitz Meeting Hall on Tuesday, February 10 at 7:00pm.
The evening begins with a screening of Overview, a short film by the Planetary Collective documenting five astronauts’ life-changing stories of seeing the Earth from the outside. This perspective-altering phenomenon was described by Mr. White as “The Overview Effect” – an experience that transforms astronauts’ perspective of the planet and mankind’s place upon it. The film also features insights from commentators and thinkers on the wider implications and importance of this understanding for society, and our relationship to the environment.
Following the film, Mr. White will lead us on an adventure in understanding the impact that space exploration has had an will have on human evolution and society. The evening will conclude with a book signing and reception. Copies of The Overview Effect will be available for purchase.

Frank believes that as more people experience firsthand the view of the Earth from space and in space, a new vision for planetary unity will arise, leading to a more peaceful and sustainable future.
