Believe it or not, the first day of school in Natick is now less than a month away.
NATICK, MA — It may feel like the school year just ended, but back-to-school season is just under a month away.
Natick Public Schools has published the 2021-22 school year calendar to help parents prepare for the first day of school, plus events like days off and vacation dates.
The first day of school for Natick students in grades 1 to 12 is Sept. 2.

Here is the list of dates to know for the 2021-22 Natick school year:
- Sept. 2 — First Day of School
- Sept. 6 — Labor Day – Closed
- Sept. 7 — Rosh Hashanah - Closed
- Sept. 16 — Yom Kippur - Closed
- Sept. 22 — Release Day – Professional Development
- Oct. 11 — Columbus Day/Indigenous People Day– Closed
- Oct. 13 — Release Day – Professional Development
- Nov. 3, 17 — Release day, grades pre-K and elementary only
- Nov. 11 — Veteran's Day - Closed
- Nov. 24 — Release Day
- Nov. 25, 26 — Thanksgiving - Closed
- Dec. 8 — Release Day
- Dec. 24 - 31 — Closed
- Jan. 12 — Release Day - Professional Development
- Jan. 17 — Marin Luther King Jr. Day - Closed
- Feb. 2 — Release Day - Professional Development
- Feb. 21 — 25 - Winter Vacation
- March 9 — Release Day - Professional Development
- April 9 - Release Day - Pre-K, Elementary only
- April 13 — Release Day
- April 15 — Good Friday - Closed
- April 18 - 22 — Spring Vacation
- May 6 — No School, Kindergarten only
- May 18 — Release Day - Professional Development
- May 30 — Memorial Day - Closed
- June 16 — Release Day (if no snow days)
- June 20 — Juneteenth - No School
- June 24 — Release Day (if 5 snow days used)
