Can You Help Solve the Stained-Glass Mystery?
Do you remember the stained-glass windows at the Lincoln Elementary School on East Central Street in Natick? If so, please tell us what you know.
The Morse Institute Library's archivist, Gaylene Bordeaux, and artist Carol Krentzman need your help in solving a mystery of three stained-glass windows salvaged from the Lincoln Elementary School on East Central Street in Natick.
The windows depict John Eliot in the 17th century, the Battle of Gettysburg in 1863, and Kitty Hawk in the 20th century.
A crew is currently restoring the windows, which will be placed in the Natick Community-Senior Center, and crew-members would like to know:

- Who created and/or commissioned the windows?
- When were they installed? (The Lincoln School opened in February, 1949)
- Was there a fourth window, and if so, what did it depict?
- Do you know of any school photographs showing the windows?
If you can answer any of these questions -- or if you have any other information -- please contact Gaylene Bordeaux via e-mail at GBordeaux@minlib.net or post your comments below.
Thanks to anyone who can help clear up the mystery.
