Natick Visiting Nurse Association and New Century Homecare Services Commemorate National Healthcare Decisions Day

Natick, Mass. - (May 3, 2013) – National Healthcare Decisions Day is an annual observance during which all Americans are urged to make their end-of-life care wishes known by drafting advance directives that include a living will and appointing a healthcare agent.

In commemoration, the Natick Visiting Nurse Association (Natick VNA) and New Century Homecare Services hosted an educational seminar, “Advance Directives: What are they, and why do I need one?”

Elder law attorney Susan Shipley addressed the different types of advance directives, and Pamela Fishman, LSW, CHP-SW, social worker with the Natick VNA, addressed the ways to discuss advance directives and end-of-life wishes with loved ones.
