Natick Visiting Nurse Association Commemorates National Senior Health & Fitness Day®

Natick, Mass. — (June 10, 2013) - The Natick Visiting Nurse Association (Natick VNA), the area’s premier free-standing, not-for-profit home health care agency, recently commemorated the 20th Annual National Senior Health & Fitness Day at the Natick Senior-Community Center.

During the event, which was a joint initiative between the Natick VNA, the Natick Human Services & Council on Aging and Fitness Together Natick, older adults from throughout the community participated in low-impact exercise classes; balance demonstrations; CPR and AED demonstrations; and had blood pressure screenings.

Judith Boyko, MBA, MS, RN, CEO of Natick VNA and parent company Century Health Systems, said that each component of the day lent itself to the overall goal of the initiative.

“This is a day during which older adults are encouraged to live healthy and active lifestyles,” Boyko said. “The different programs that were offered gave attendees a sense of how to do that and what community resources are available to them.”
