Brush Fire Burns Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary In Natick

The brush fire along South Street was first reported Tuesday night and drew fire departments from several local towns.

NATICK, MA — Multiple local fire departments responded to a large brush fire Tuesday night near Mass Audubon's Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary in Natick.

Natick firefighters first responded to the fire along South Street just before 8 p.m. Tuesday. Most of the fire was out by close to 10 p.m., the Natick Fire Department reported, and firefighters left the scene just before midnight.

Almost every local fire department responded to help with the brush fire, including crews from Framingham, Wayland, Ashland, Hopkinton, Sherborn and Dover, plus the state Department of Conservation and Recreation.

Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary is located along the western bank of the Charles River and south of Eliot Street and contains extensive hiking trails.
