Buzz Grows Over NEF Spelling Bee

Seven teams have already signed up to compete in the May 11 bee.

Sign-ups for the Natick Education Foundation Spelling Bee have been growing, with seven teams currently registered to compete.

The PTO, three staff teams, the Board of Selectmen, Natick Democratic Town Committee, PTO, and have all gathered teams to participate in the May 11 event. Last year 40 organizations, schools and businesses competed, according to the NEF website.

Businesses may enter for $500 and nonprofits may enter for $100. The event is a fundraiser for the NEF, a nonprofit organization that supports the Natick public education system.

WCVB-Channel 5 personality and Natick residnet Harvey Leonard will emcee the event and WCVB-Channel 5 evening news anchor Heather Unruh will co-emcee.

, , Cognex and are the major sponsors for the event, which will begin at 7 p.m. at Natick High School on May 11.
