Carol Mitchell Passed Away at Age 57

Carol Ann (Sharkey) Mitchell, 57, a lifelong resident of Natick, passed away on August 26 at the Newton Wellesley Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Paul Mitchell with whom she shared 20 years of marriage.
Born in Boston, the daughter of the late James and Mary (Rooney) Sharkey, Carol was raised in Natick. She was a graduate of Marian High School and went on to earn her certification as an optician. Carol was employed at For Eyes in Natick until becoming ill. She was a communicant of and a member of the – Post 79. Carol enjoyed traveling and was a loving and generous friend to all she came in contact with.

In addition to her husband, Carol is survived by 2 sisters, Ann Marie Hellen and her husband William of Phillipston, MA and Rosemary Garcia and her husband Joseph of Los Lunas, NM; her brother, James Sharkey of Framingham; and her nephew, Patrick Hellen and his wife Trisha of Boston. She was the sister-in-law of Louise Ruschel of Natick, Kenneth Stacey and his wife Linda of Framingham, and Thomas Stacey, Sr. of Waltham.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Carol’s funeral from the on Tuesday, September 4, at 8:15 a.m. to be followed by her Mass of Christian Burial in at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in . Visiting hours will be held on Monday, September 3, from 3-7 p.m. Those wishing to remember Carol may do so through memorial donations to or the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701-1803.
