Crossroads School in Natick Receives Grant for Garden Program

MutualOne gave Crossroads School a grant for its garden program.

Mark R. Haranas, president and CEO of MutualOne Bank and a trustee of the MutualOne Charitable Foundation, announced today that the Foundation has granted the request of Crossroads School for Children for the sum of $800 to support its School Garden Program.

Crossroads, a private, nonprofit day school located in Natick, currently provides year-round comprehensive services for 59 students with autism.

The Foundation’s grant will allow the 2015 expansion of a garden program that began this past summer, providing hands-on and multi-disciplinary learning directly applicable to educational areas such as life and vocational skill development, academic learning, and occupational therapy.

“We were happy to grant this request and to help the school develop additional learning resources for all Crossroads students,” said Haranas.

The grant to Crossroads School was among awards totaling $85,350 in the Foundation’s most recent round of funding.

Since it was established in 1998, the MutualOne Charitable Foundation has donated over $2.9 million to charitable, educational, and civic initiatives that improve and enhance the quality of life in Framingham, Natick, and surrounding communities.

MutualOne Bank, which operates under an 1889 state charter, has full-service offices at 828 Concord Street and One Lincoln Street in Framingham and at 49 Main Street in Natick, a Commercial Loan Center at 160 Cochituate Road in Framingham, and a Residential Loan Center at 49 Main Street in Natick.
