A local resident received a call and the caller ID said 'Town of Natick.' It wasn't.

Don’t trust your caller ID.
Natick police are warning of a scam that recently happened in town. A local resident recently received a call and the Caller ID was displaying, “Town of Natick.Gov.” It turned out to be a pitch to increase the limit on her credit cards.
“Caller ID cannot be trusted and should not be taken for granted,” wrote Natick police. “There are numerous ‘spoofing’ techniques available to perpetrators of fraud and we commonly receive complaints about these acts.”

One of the more prevalent scams, said police, is to use the number of the IRS to appear authentic and fleece unwitting individuals of their cash.
“Always seek out ways to confirm the origin of a call and NEVER give out personal information over the phone.”
