May 12-13, 2011 – 5th Annual Northeast Juvenile Firesetting Conference- It’s Never Just Firesetting: Interventions for Complicated Kids
Firesetting among children and adolescents is a societal problem larger in scope than most people realize. Only through collaborative efforts is there a chance to effectively intervene.
Pre-conference institutes On May 12, 2011 will address firesetting motivations, interviewing, and intervention planning. May 13th conference will feature skill-building workshops on firesetting, cultural differences, autism and self-injury. Keynote, Fire Marshal Jim Crawford, retired, from the Vancouver (WA) Fire Department will provide an overview on Vision 20/20 and outline the future of fire prevention and fire and life safety education efforts in the US. The conference is sponsored by the Brandon Residential Treatment Center, the MA Property Insurance Underwriting Association, the MA Association of Safety and Fire Educators, and the state Department of Services.
