First Annual Natick Green-up Day: a Great Team Effort

This morning, Sat., (6/28) A great team effort at two locations (the Stop n Shop and Roche Bros. Parking areas). Nearly two dozen volunteers helped transform this once trashy area into something beautiful again. It was a good start to our First Annual Natick Green-up Day, and pushed us further ahead toward our goal of making Natick the First Trash-Free Community in Massachusetts in 2014. Natick's phenomenal intergenerational Chorus, Sound and Spirit, provided the backbone of our effort (with nearly a dozen people including Director, Kate Leavey, her two daughters, The Krueger family, The Iano Family), plus leaders from the Natick HS Earth Club, Linda Nguyen, VP, Raghu Bardwaj, President, and Doug Milch, Faculty Advisor, and other BHLF Volunteers. We enjoyed a gorgeous day. I even recruited help from my wonderful relatives in Walpole, the Jolleys, and several members of my own family, my wife Jane, daughter Miriam, son-in-law, Aaron, and their dear children, Matthew, Genevieve, and Bowen. BTW, more and better photos coming soon from our Event Photographer and Trail Buddy, Buz Bragdon. Don't miss our next big initiative: the Mid-Summer Day of Service and Reflection atop the exquisite summit of Coolidge Hill, Sat., 7/19, 9 am - 12 noon. --pat
