Caller Said Bomb, Armed Gunman Was Inside Jordan's IMAX Theater: Police

Natick police are investigating a threat that a bomb and armed gunman was inside Jordan Furniture's IMAX theater.

NATICK, MA — Massachusetts State Police K9 unit joined Natick police on Friday evening to sweep the IMAX 3D Theater at Jordan's Furniture in Natick after it received a live phone call saying there was a bomb and an armed gunman inside.

Management initially evacuated the theater, the furniture store and the restaurant in the complex, calling police. . Natick Police arrived at 7:46 p.m., and called upon the Massachusetts State Police, which sent a bomb squad technician and a K-9. Police swept the building and determined that there was no threat to public safety. The building was cleared to reopen shortly after 9 p.m.

The Natick Police Department is aware of other hoax threats made against locations in other communities in Massachusetts Friday evening, said a press release. The incident is being actively investigated, and no connection has been made to similar threats.

"The Natick Police Department takes all threats and calls for service seriously," Chief Hicks said in a statement. 'We will actively investigate in an effort to determine who is responsible for this unfounded call."
