House Passes Conference Committee ARPA Bill

Bill contains local funding for COVID-19 recovery

BOSTON – Representative David P. Linsky (D-Natick), along with his colleagues in the Massachusetts House of Representatives today passed the Conference Committee Report for H.4269, An Act relative to immediate COVID-19 recovery needs. Funded at $3.82 billion for statewide recovery, the bill utilizes the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and the Fiscal Year 2021 (FY21) surplus funds. Among other municipalities, Natick, Millis and Sherborn will all receive funding to help in the recovery process from the COVID-19 Pandemic.

“I was happy to join my colleagues in the House of Representatives to vote in favor of the Conference Committee report for the ARPA bill” said Representative Linsky. “The funding designated to the Fifth Middlesex District will go a long way in helping our local community continue to recover from COVID-19 pandemic.”

Local Funding Includes:

Natick

  • $200,000 to improve the town’s website, enhance the town’s remote meeting capabilities and provide technological upgrades within the town hall building and other town buildings for remote meetings and remote participation
  • $100,000 for the Housing Authority to provide upgrades at housing facilities, including improvements related to kitchens, generators emergency management, and accessibility
  • $150,000 to conduct a study on improving the integration and accessibility of human services in the town
  • $150,000 to Natick public schools for after-school tutoring support and mental health services

Millis

  • $100,000 for the construction of a perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances filtration plant

Sherborn

  • $100,000 for water infrastructure improvements at the Leeland Farms and Woodhaven housing complexes

Other Fifth Middlesex Funding

  • $150,000 shall be expended for economic recovery planning support for the “Golden Triangle” to mitigate impacts from the 2019 novel coronavirus pandemic

The Conference Committee Report will go to the Senate and the Governor to be signed tomorrow (12/3/2021).
