"The ease of stealing the card is the story and thwarting the act simple," writes Natick police. "It’s a battle of wits. Your wits against dimwits, halfwits and nitwits." Police say the "rip is simple," and the "actors" go inside the establishment, walk around, and pretend to look at offerings. They look at who has left a purse hanging on the back of a chair, or on the floor. They sit behind the target and wait to grab it.
