ICYMI: In Case Of Disaster: Natick Updates Residents On Hazard Mitigation Plan
Hear about updates and plans for the future on the plan that is in response to natural disasters.

NATICK, MA — The town announced that is is holding a public workshop as an update to the Hazard Mitigation Plan.
The workshop (which was postponed due to snow on the original date) is happening May 25 14, at 7 p.m. at the Natick Town Hall, explains to residents what the town has accomplished and also plans for the future. The plan is an update of one that was instituted in the summer of 2010.
This plan is important because it helps the town plan and receive funding for projects that reduce the risk of injury or damage to property from future natural hazard events such as flooding and hurricanes, said the announcement.

The DisasterMitigation Act of 2000 (DMA) places high priority on the continuation of the planning process after the initial submittal, requiring communities to seek and receive re-approval from FEMA in order to
remain eligible for assistance.
