ICYMI: Woman, Dog Rescued From Natick Marsh
Natick firefighters rescued a woman and her dog, who got stuck in a Natick marsh.
NATICK, MA — Thanks to an observant pedestrian, and the Natick Fire Department, a woman and her dog are safe after being rescued from a marsh in Natick.
At approximately 3:14 p.m on Thursday., firefighters headed to the Hunnewell Town Forest, located on Oak Street, for a report of a woman and her dog who were stuck in the mud. A person who had been walking by called 9-1-1.
Firefighters arrived on scene at 3:19 p.m. and found the woman waist deep in water, approximately 50 feet out into the marsh.

Firefighter Rob Stevenson donned a survival suit and jumped into the water to assist the woman and her dog to dry land. Neither the woman or her dog were injured.
"Thanks to the quick response and efficient work by firefighters today, this woman was not stuck in the marsh for an extended period of time and was able to go home without injury to herself or her dog," Chief White said in a statement. "I would like to remind residents to always be cautious around marshy areas which can be extremely dangerous."
