John Ciccariello Announces Withdrawal From Natick Selectmen Race
John Ciccariello will not be running for a spot on the Board of Selectmen in Natick.

NATICK, MA — John Ciccariello recently announced that he is withdrawing from the Board of Selectmen race in Natick with this letter posted on his Facebook page:
Dear Friends, Supporters and Natick Voters:
It is with deepest regret that I must inform you that I am withdrawing from the March 28th, 2017 Board of Selectmen’s Race. There are numerous reasons that have impacted my decision to do so and I assure you it was not because I do not want to serve the Natick Community.
The past several days have weighed heavily on my mind, taking into consideration how serving on the board would impact my family and myself personally over the next three years if the voters chose to elect me. I thought well, I could always step down after a year, but that is not the John Ciccariello way nor would it be fair to the community.
Over the past two years I have learned how to enjoy my retirement sharing times with my wife Diane, my son Joe and traveling to Iowa to visit my son Chris, his wife Emily and especially my Grandson Camden. Family is my first priority.
I own and operate a successful Sport Fishing Charter Boat during the summer on Cape Cod Bay. It became apparent to me that I could no longer book fishing trips on Monday afternoons or Tuesday morning as I would have to travel back and forth to attend more meetings.
I reviewed the challenges the community faces with the design and construction of the West Natick Fire Station and the Kennedy Middle School Projects. I presently serve as Chair of the Fire Station Building Committee and a member of the Kennedy Building Committee and at this time feel my time and commitment should remain to those projects.
Perhaps I should have not filed papers, but at that time I was focused more on my concerns with the financial operations and administrative leadership of the community, quite frankly I still am.
In closing I want to thank all of you who have supported me over the years and those who have served with me on town elected boards and committees since 1998.
Thank You, Please vote on March 28th, let your voice be heard.
John Ciccariello
