Keefe Student Designs Natick Park and Recreation Logo
A student at Keefe Technical designed the logo for Natick Parks and Recreation.

senior Kurt Stilwell has been chosen as the winner of a logo design contest for the Natick Recreation and Parks Department (NRPD).
“We contacted Keefe Tech to see if they could help us on this project because we’ve worked with them in the past and our logo was in need of a facelift,” said Jon Marshall, NRPD Programs and Special Needs Coordinator in a press release. Previously, Keefe students built a shelter and a deck on the town golf course for the NRPD.
Keefe Tech Visual Design Instructor Joel Crisafulli brought the contest to his class of 42 students, and directed them to create a logo that was simple, modern, and reflected an active lifestyle. “We’d like to congratulate Kurt on a job well done. He was best able to capture the ideas of what the client was looking for. He is a very creative and outgoing student who has excelled in Design.”

NRPD staff narrowed the contest finalists down to two designs, both of which were created by Stilwell. He then combined the two designs and worked under Marshall’s direction to develop the final logo, which will be used for the municipality’s future signage and apparel.
“Winning came with a sense of pride,” Stilwell said. “It’s my design and it’s going to be used on signs, their Web site, and t-shirts.”

“It’s been great working with Mr. Crisafulli and all the students,” added Marshall. “They had great ideas that were right in line with what we were thinking.”
Stilwell plans to attend Bridgewater State University where he will purse a degree in English. “I enjoyed the Visual Design program at Keefe,” he said. “I was able to test out my interest in many different design areas and decide what I liked most.”
