Linsky Running In 2022 For 12th Term In State House
With new districts, Linsky's 5th Middlesex District now covers Natick and half of Wayland.

NATICK, MA — Longtime state Rep. David Linsky (D-Natick) confirmed this week he will run for another term representing the 5th Middlesex District.
Linsky is one of the longest serving members of the state House: he was first elected in a special election in 1999, and then won his first full term in the 2000 election.
Linksy, a Natick High School graduate and former county prosecutor, has only faced one challenger in a Democratic primary since 1999. Linsky defeated local businessman Jaymin Patel, also a Natick High grad, in the 2020 September primary.

So far, no other candidates have filed to run for the 5th Middlesex seat. The filing period opened on Feb. 15 for the September primary, and candidates have until May 31 to turn in papers.
The 5th Middlesex District has changed since the 2020 election. After redistricting in late 2021 following new Census figures, the district moved north, shedding parts of Sherborn and Millis. The district now includes all of Natick and the southern half of Wayland.
