Lookout Farm Launches Cider and Taproom
The Belkin Family Lookout Farm in Natick is now brewing, and selling, ciders.
Belkin Family Lookout Farm recently expand its operation with the launch of their Farmhouse Blend hard cider, which has been crafted by the farm’s new division, Lookout Farm Hard Cider Company, announced the company.
“The launch of Lookout Farm Hard Cider carries on the farm’s fruit-focused tradition, which has been in place since the farm was founded in 1651,” said a spokesperson for Lookout Farm.
Visitors can tour the new Cider House and taste and buy the cider at the farm’s taproom, which is called The Lookout.

Farmhouse Blend is inspired by all the best qualities of an apple: bright, crisp flavors, a balance of sweetness and tartness, and a refreshing finish that satisfies, said the announcement.
“The team explored and tested dozens of recipes, and made hundreds of small cider batches before nailing Farmhouse Blend. Throughout the year, Lookout Farm Hard Cider will release seasonal blends of cider using ingredients grown at Lookout Farm and other family farms across the east coast.”

Owners say they anticipate fall and holiday releases as soon as this year.
When in season, they will use 19 varieties of apples (and there are 25 grown at Lookout) available at the farm.
Farmhouse Blend cider is finished with a touch of locally sourced honey before it is bottled on site at Lookout Farm. The new blend, along with seasonal offerings, is available on draft. In addition, The Lookout taproom offers a selection of flatbreads, locally produced charcuterie by Moody’s Chef Josh Lewin and artisan cheeses alongside other farm-sourced, edible offerings to compliment the ciders on draft. Cider is available for purchase in the taproom for $10.99 per four-pack of 12 oz. bottles.
Jay Mofenson, son-in-law to Steve and Joan Belkin, who along with his wife Amy, helps to oversee operations at Lookout Farm, lead the new cider company.
Aaron Mateychuk, who for 23 years spearheaded Watch City Brewing Company in Waltham, was enlisted as the role of head brewer for the operation.
“Mateychuk brings a unique eye to the cider-making process and plans to utilize his expertise in craft beer-making to create inventive and delicious new styles of cider.”
Lookout’s new ciders are also available at select Roche Brothers locations, Legal Sea Foods and The Tavern Restaurant in Framingham.
